Dipankar Ghose – Outstanding Political Reporting 2020

 

Dipankar Ghose is a Special Correspondent with the Indian Express based out of New Delhi. Having passed out of St Columba’s School, New Delhi, he is an alumnus of Hindu College, University of Delhi, and the Express Institute of Media Studies. In his nine years as a journalist, he has covered issues ranging from politics, to conflict. Apart from Delhi, he spent four and a half years living in Chhattisgarh, looking at issues including the complex Maoist conflict.He is a three time winner of the Ramnath Goenka Award for Excellence in Journalism, winning in three different categories for his work on the Muzaffarnagar Riots in 2013(On the Spot Reporting), a piece on victims of sexual violence in Bastar in 2017(Feature Writing) and for his work covering stories of people in Bastar going beyond the Maoist-State narrative(Reporting from Conflict Zones).
